The use of private transport contracts to deport undocumented foreign nationals has become the latest flashpoint in South Africa’s increasingly heated immigration debate, with the African Unite Borders Bus Trucks Association (AUBBTA) arguing that government spending on deportation logistics should instead be used to create jobs for unemployed South Africans.
