There’s a strange magic trick happening all around us. People with six-figure salaries living paycheck to paycheck. Luxury cars parked outside apartments with maxed-out credit cards inside. Vacations paid for with money that doesn’t really exist yet. From the outside, it looks like wealth. From the inside, it’s stress wearing a designer jacket.

I like to call this “the illusion of rich”.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth most people don’t want to hear:

Wealth has almost nothing to do with how much you make.
It has everything to do with what you keep.

I’ve come across way too many highly educated folks in very well-paid positions who keep wondering, why they can’t “move the needle” and feel stuck despite out-earning all their peers.

The good news is: If you are not one of those high-earners, you also got a good shot on becoming wealthy, since earning a lot is just one side of the story to riches.
