The U.S. Geological Survey's Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) says it can no longer model a forecast window for Kīlauea's next lava fountaining episode. In the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory's most recent daily update, issued at 8:23 a.m. HST on Wednesday, September 23, the observatory said irregular changes between summit inflation and deflation have made the timing impossible to model.
