Well before Kelela had finished touring for her 2023 album, Raven, she knew what her future would look like. “I’ve been knowing what the next thing is,” the 43-year-old musician says from an S-shaped couch in Big Mercy Sound’s control room. “I just needed to really hunker down and find the people who I wanted to make that with.”
