It’s a different day, but the same old problem. I am direct, and because I am lacking in a penis (assuming synthetic ones for personal use don’t count), I am considered aggressive rather than assertive when I speak up for myself. I don’t mince words, and yet, I communicate with professionalism. One might think my honesty and forthright communication would be appreciated.
One would be wrong.
This has come up as an issue for me time and time again. I speak clearly, and I say exactly what I mean. But apparently, I don’t pour enough sugar on my words to help the medicine go down. Frankly, I’m not willing to do that either.
The problem I’m facing is two-fold.
- There is a major lack of acceptance when it comes to neurodiversity.
- Sexism is still alive and well in the workplace and world.
