After building one of Johannesburg’s most talked-about wellness communities over the past few years, Mpoomy Ledwaba’s Unlimited WalkFEST is officially making its way to Durban for the very first time.

This marks a major moment for the fast-growing movement as it expands beyond Joburg and brings its unique wellness experience to the Durban beachfront.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Oceans Mall and the city’s iconic coastline, this exciting new edition will see women from across South Africa and beyond coming together for a 5km walk centred around purpose, connection, wellness, and joy.

What started as a simple but powerful message — “walk your why” — has grown into a deeply meaningful community experience.

Unlimited WalkFEST has become a safe and empowering space where women are encouraged to show up exactly as they are, while walking for the things that matter most to them.

Over the years, women have taken part in the event while reflecting on deeply personal journeys around:

Through colour, energy, and community, hundreds of attendees — lovingly known as Galpals — have turned the event into something far more powerful than a fitness gathering.

Now in 2026, Unlimited WalkFEST is entering a new chapter.

According to founder Mpoomy Ledwaba, this year’s message is all about embracing joy as part of the wellness journey.

“This year, we’re inviting women to add joy to their wellness journey,” says Mpoomy Ledwaba.

“Because wellness isn’t only about healing or fixing, it’s also about celebrating, feeling good, and choosing joy, wherever you are in your journey.”

The Durban edition is expected to attract women from all over — including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and beyond — turning the coastal city into a vibrant meeting point for women united by intention and shared experiences.

And while the walk itself is at the heart of the event, Unlimited WalkFEST offers much more than just steps.

Attendees can expect a feel-good experience that blends:

  • wellness
  • meaningful conversations
  • music
  • sisterhood
  • community connection

Whether it’s your long-overdue trip to Durban, your first-ever WalkFEST, or simply a chance to pour back into yourself, this is one event designed to meet women exactly where they are.

One thing is clear: Durban is about to get a serious dose of joy, healing, and sisterhood.
