Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be on the verge of completing the signing of Jonah Fabisch. Only the final details and medical tests stand between the midfielder and a move to Naturena.
According to Foot Africa correspondent Hlayisani Magoro, the two parties are in advanced negotiations, while the 24-year-old has already arrived in Johannesburg to finalise the transfer.
JONAH FABISCH ARRIVES IN JOHANNESBURG
Magoro reported that Kaizer Chiefs and Fabisch are in the final stages of negotiations.
“Kaizer Chiefs on the verge of completing Jonah Fabisch signing. Two parties in advanced talks; finer details to be ironed out & deal subject to medical checks. The 24yo midfielder already touched down.“
Born in Nairobi, Kenya, to a Zimbabwean mother and legendary German coach Reinhard Fabisch, the midfielder developed through the renowned Hamburger SV academy after joining the club in 2012.
He made his senior debut for Hamburger SV II in 2020 before moving to 1. FC Magdeburg in 2023. A year later, he joined FC Erzgebirge Aue, where he impressed during the 2025/26 3. Liga campaign, scoring three goals in 30 appearances before becoming a free agent this year.
KAIZER CHIEFS SET FOR MIDFIELD BOOST
On the international stage, Fabisch represented Germany at Under-17 and Under-19 level before switching allegiance to Zimbabwe.
The defensive midfielder made his senior debut for the Warriors against Ethiopia in a FIFA World Cup qualifier in November 2021. He has since established himself as a regular for Zimbabwe, earning plaudits during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he started all three group-stage matches and registered an assist.
If the deal is completed, Fabisch will become Kaizer Chiefs’ latest midfield addition as Fernando Da Cruz continues reshaping his squad ahead of the new Betway Premiership campaign.
