- The talented striker Khanyisa Mayo is currently playing for Kaizer Chiefs on a season-long loan from Algerian club CR Belouizdad.
- Kaizer Chiefs management will wait until the end of the season before they make a final choice on his future.
Kaizer Chiefs striker Khanyisa Mayo does not know if he will stay at Naturena next season.
The talented forward is playing for the club on a season-long loan. He joined from an Algerian club called CR Belouizdad.
Kaizer Chiefs originally hoped to make the loan deal permanent. But management will only make a final choice at the end of the season.
Right now, the club does not have a full-time head coach. Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze are currently sharing the job.
People close to the club say management wants the new coach to pick his own players. They want him to build the squad in his own way.
Mayo has struggled to find his best form since joining. He has scored just two goals in 15 games across all competitions.
A source close to the club said other team members are also waiting for news about their future.
“There are other players who will also have to wait until the end of the season,” the source said. “It makes sense, because a new coach may arrive with different ideas, and some players might not fit his style.”
“So, it is better to wait before making any decisions.”
Kaizer Chiefs played to a goalless draw at the weekend. This result stopped their run of five wins in a row in the Betway Premiership.
