Political corruption and the idea of vested interests or politicians being bought by various outside forces is not exactly anything new, and it’s certainly not something that hasn’t been talked about extensively. If one merely says the word politician, it will no doubt conjure up the image of someone who’s bought by oil companies or big tobacco, or whatever else. In other words, politicians who are effectively bought by these billionaires and wealthy donors represent a true stain on what is supposed to be a democratic process of election.
