They Are Finally Admitting They Hate Martin Luther King Jr.

I’ve watched people use Martin Luther King Jr’s words to shut down Black people for years. He was used as a siren against unrest and protest.

Shut up and sit down and be happy with what you have.

Kevin McCarthy, former Speaker of the House, once said, “(They go) against everything Martin Luther King has ever told us, don’t judge us by the color of our skin, and now they are embracing it.” (In reference to Black people and critical race theory)

On Fox News, Laura Ingraham once asked, “What would Martin Luther King think of a Democratic Party that believes it can regain power by living in a constant state of protests or racial hatred and denial?”

They twisted his politics. They pretend he was loved during his time, and that he would be some grand supporter of late-stage capitalism. I even remember an AI image floating around of Trump and King arm in arm. I saw dozens of racists use King’s memory as a pawn. However, something is changing.

There was a time, not long ago, when they wouldn’t dare publicly speak ill of MLK even if they were only discussing the conservative symbol and not the man, but something has changed.
