R800 million for security: SANDF mobilises against gang violence and illegal mining

The Department of Defence has requested over R800 million for the deployment of the SANDF to assist police in provinces plagued by gang violence and illegal mining, as revealed by Acting Secretary of Defence Thobekile Gamede.
