South African singer Makhadzi has warned fans and event organisers about a scammer who is allegedly using her name to trick people and take their money.

The award-winning star recently took to her Instagram Story to alert the public about the situation. In her message, she explained that a man is pretending to work with her and is asking people for money.

On her Instagram Story, Makhadzi wrote, “This is Cyril Nzeru, he is Going around scamming people using my name, taking peoples money.. pretending to work with me. I have no business relationship with him.”

The singer also shared an official notice from Makhadzi Entertainment to further warn the public about the alleged scam. According to the notice, the individual has been falsely presenting himself as a booking agent for the artist.

The statement read, “It has come to our attention that an individual identifying himself as Cyril Nzeru Skero is falsely representing himself as a booking agent for Makhadzi Entertainment and is allegedly engaging in fraudulent activities.”

The organisation made it clear that the man is not connected to them in any way. The statement continued, “Makhadzi Entertainment would like to categorically state that this individual is not affiliated with, authorized by, or acting on behalf of the organisation in any capacity.”

Makhadzi Entertainment also warned promoters, event organisers, and members of the public to be very careful when making bookings or payments.

The notice stated that any bookings, payments, or agreements made through unauthorised individuals are done entirely at the person’s own risk, and the organisation will not be responsible for any financial losses.

To help people avoid being scammed, the organisation shared a few important tips. These include only communicating through officially verified channels, confirming all bookings directly with Makhadzi Entertainment, and avoiding payments to individuals whose credentials cannot be verified.

The organisation added that it remains committed to protecting its brand, stakeholders, and the public from fraudulent activities.

The statement concluded that appropriate steps are being taken to deal with the matter, and people who want to verify bookings or report suspicious activity should contact the official Makhadzi Entertainment channels.
