Scorecard

Mushfiqur Rahim marked his 100th Test cap with a century as Bangladesh took a commanding first-innings lead over Ireland in Mirpur.

The 38-year-old had an overnight wait to complete the ton having been stuck on 99 not out at stumps on the first day.

He fell to the bowling of Matthew Humphreys on 106 with the Irish spinner also accounting for Litton Das, who had become Bangladesh's second centurion of the innings before being caught by Paul Stirling at first slip on 128.

By the time Andy McBrine took his sixth wicket to finally close the innings, Bangladesh had amassed an imposing total 476.

After they were beaten by an innings and 47 runs in the first Test last week, Ireland fell to 98-5 in response.

White-ball captain Stirling, again opening the batting with red-ball counterpart Andrew Balbirnie, led the way with 27 from 26 balls before falling lbw to Khaled Ahmed.

Ireland were 41-0, but lost a quintet of top-order wickets for just 53 runs.

The Test resumes on day three with Lorcan Tucker and Stephen Doheny at the crease for Ireland.

The Test series will be followed by three T20 internationals.
