Reality TV star and content creator Jojo Robinson recently underwent surgery after being diagnosed with invasive skin cancer. Her husband, Calven Robinson, shared an update with fans and followers, revealing that the procedure was successful.
Before the surgery, Jojo explained that doctors would need to remove several cancerous areas on her back. According to the star, there were six skin cancer spots that needed to be removed. She also shared that the operation would involve cutting out large areas of skin.
After the surgery, Calven, who is also widely known as Boo Bear, took to social media to reassure fans that everything went well.
He wrote, “Jo’s surgery was successful currently sleeping it off, it was a 3 and a half hour surgery Picture 1 was before surgery. 2 and 3 are my current view after surgery. she’s The team of nurses and staff at Ribumed Medical and @drpaulmcgarr are absolutely amazing. Thank you for taking such good care of my Jojo. And everyone for the love and support i know she was so blown away by all the love.. she told me I had to update her insta fam – Boobear.”
Calven also shared another update on his Instagram Story, saying, “Jo is out of surgery and three and half hours later. It all went well. I’m just waiting for her to wake up now.”
Before going into surgery, Jojo opened up about how the procedure would affect a tattoo on her back that she had spent many hours completing. She explained that removing the cancerous areas would mean losing parts of the tattoo.
She wrote, “The last day my back tattoo will look like this. Tomorrow is surgery day where we remove the multiple skin cancers on my back, currently 6 all together. Unfortunately, with skin cancer like mine, large areas are cut out, which in general would be okay, but for someone that has spent over 30 + hours of pain and time to build up a back piece, it’s a double blow.”
The reality TV star said she does not know what her back will look like after the surgery but is trying to stay hopeful.
“Large sections of the tattoo will be removed and I have no idea what thats going to look like. But as someone told me here on my insta fam, ‘what is the core behind tattoos. Its your story told on the outside’, so essentially this is just the next phase of that story,” she wrote.
Fans have continued to send Jojo messages of support as she recovers from the surgery.
