Home Affairs withdraws asylum seeker directive after protests turn violent

Department of Home Affairs (DHA) Director-General, Livhuwani Tommy Makhode, has withdrawn his directive to Refugee Reception Offices (RROs) to accept all asylum applications irrespective of the applicants’ illegal entry or stay in the country.
