Naked and Famous

I’m a big fan of the Last Word and the Paper Plane, both four-ingredient classic cocktails that have a great balance of spirits, herbal flavors, and citrus. So when I found out that there was a cocktail that merged both together called Naked and Famous, I shook one up right away and was immediately hooked. This drink was created by Joaquin Simo at Death & Co. in New York in 2011. Simo said it was “the bastard child born out of an illicit Oaxacan love affair between the classic Last Word and the Paper Plane,” with the Oaxacan part coming from the use of mezcal as one of the spirits.
