The slow pulse of El Niño-driven ocean water that scientists have tracked for weeks is now arriving along California's coast. Over the coming week, the 6-inch to 1-foot surge is expected to move north along the state's shoreline at about 6 mph, or roughly 150 miles a day, before reaching Oregon and Washington, the Associated Press reported Saturday. Experts expect additional waves to keep passing through from October into February.
