As a food-obsessed recipe developer, I get absolutely giddy when it comes to planning the menus for gatherings and holiday meals. The whole process usually involves scouring my trove of cookbooks for inspiration and mapping out a spread that will impress and delight everyone at the table. Often, I’m tempted to try new, trending recipes to challenge and excite myself, like marry me salmon or Caesar baked spaghetti, but over the years, I’ve come to the realization that sometimes (often, even) simple is best.
