Karabo Mareka, 28, who was the runner-up at Miss South Africa 2025, has joined Vista America, a private aviation company. She shared the exciting news with her followers on Instagram.
“Different Cabin, Same Girl… Now Flying The 1%,” she wrote, announcing her new role.
Karabo also opened up about the interview process for the job. She shared on her Instagram story, “My last round of interview was the face-to-face interview over a month ago. NERVOUS! But let me tell you guys I remembered it honestly can’t be as bad as the Miss SA interview rounds as soon as I remembered that I was so calm. No interview phases me anymore.”
She compared her new interview to her Miss South Africa experience. “I can’t believe I’m about to start my interview. My voice is shaky. I just feel like I’ve gone through Miss South Africa and that was probably the hardest interview I might have gone through in my life,” she said.
The private aviation opportunity came quickly. Karabo revealed that she had to fly to the United States in just four days after completing her interview. “It hasn’t even been an hour since I last completed my interview. They just sent me an email and they want to meet me face to face. I need to fly in like four days,” she shared.
She added that the job was completely unexpected. “I need y’all to understand | had NO IDEA this job existed. So when I applied everything went so fast | had no time to breathe. I was shocked every time,” Karabo wrote.
Karabo also described how exciting and surreal this moment is for her. “You guys, this feels so surreal. It actually feels so surreal because I just put on my uniform for the first time. It’s graduation day today and I am so excited. I’m so proud of myself because it’s definitely not easy. It wasn’t easy at all and everything was worth it. All those interviews and rounds, so worth it. I’m excited to see what’s going to come out of this job and new experiences,” she said.
Karabo Mareka is now taking her career from pageants to private aviation. Her followers cheered her on as she steps into this exciting new chapter. With her confidence and experience from Miss South Africa, she is ready to take to the skies.
