Award-winning content creator Grace Mondlana has celebrated a very special milestone in her family by throwing a birthday party for her beloved dog, Kai.

Kai, a Biewer Yorkshire Terrier, recently turned one, and Grace went all out to make sure his first birthday was one to remember. The celebration took place over the weekend at Grace’s home, where close family members, friends and fellow content creators gathered to celebrate the adorable pup.

The party was filled with colourful balloons and beautiful décor, with Kai’s face featured throughout the celebration. Guests were also treated to goodies and sweets, while Kai himself was groomed specially for his big day.

The celebration was not only about the dogs, as Grace made sure there was plenty of entertainment for the children who attended. The party included face painting, slushies, a kiddies table and even a jumping castle. Kai also received plenty of lovely gifts, while his guests arrived with their tiny dogs, giving them the opportunity to meet and make friends with the birthday boy.

During the celebration, Grace shared a heartfelt speech explaining why she decided to throw such a big party for her furry family member.

She said, “The reason why I’m having this party for Kai is because Kai brought so much sunshine in my life. He’s my everything. I love him so much. He has changed my life in the past 10 months that’s he’s been with me.”

Grace also used the special occasion to introduce her second dog, Bella, who is the same breed as Kai. Bella is only three months old and arrived at Grace’s home a week ago.

The content creator explained that she decided to get Bella because she worried that Kai would become bored and lonely whenever she was away from home for several hours. She felt that he needed a sister to keep him company.

Grace affectionately refers to Kai and Bella as her kids and said she is happy that she is able to manage both puppies.

However, not everyone was impressed by Grace’s decision to throw a birthday party for her dog. During a TikTok live, Grace revealed that a random woman had sent her a DM expressing her anger over the celebration.

Grace said, “Some lady sent me a DM and said how dare you have a party for a dog. I was like what? What are you doing? You spend so much time consuming other people’s lives that as a way for your free time. On my free time, I make parties for dogs. That makes me happy. In your free time what are you doing?”

She also made it clear that people who do not enjoy her content do not have to watch it.

The birthday celebration has since sparked debate online, with some social media users criticising Grace for the lavish celebration.

One person said on X, “She does everything for clout i mean you made showing your life your entire personality and means to an end.”

Another said, “Mind you she literally makes money off of her supporters, now she’s shitting on them after getting so much from them. She forgets she wouldn’t be where she is without her supporters, call me bitter idc this girl thinks she’s above everyone.”

Despite the criticism, Grace appears to be enjoying life with her two furry children and is celebrating the joy they bring into her life.
