Award-winning poet, speaker and presenter Botlhale Boikanyo has received an unforgettable surprise from her mother following a major milestone in her life.

The star recently graduated with an Honours degree in Film and Television from Wits University, and her graduation celebrations became even more special when her mother surprised her with a brand-new Suzuki car.

However, Botlhale had no idea that the car was actually meant for her.

In a video shared on Instagram, Botlhale could be seen surrounded by her family and friends as she celebrated her graduation and her mother’s incredible achievement. Botlhale initially believed that they were going to collect her mother’s new car after graduation. Her mother had also recently earned her doctorate, making the day a double celebration for the family.

Little did Botlhale know that there were actually two cars waiting for them.

Sharing the special moment with her followers, Botlhale opened up about the surprise and the important role her mother has played in her life.

As if graduation day wasn’t already one of the most unforgettable days of my life, my mom somehow made it even more special
I thought we were rushing to collect my mom’s new car after graduation (y’all know she had just earned her doctorate so we were all excited to celebrate Dr. Mom

The emotional moment was met with congratulatory messages from some of South Africa’s biggest stars, who celebrated Botlhale and her mother for their achievements.

Actress Ntando Rambani was among those who shared a heartfelt message with the graduate. She wrote, “Oh man Bothlale your mom is honestly the best. God bless the both of you da congratulations sis, on everything!!!”

Thickleeyonce also joined the celebrations, sharing her excitement over the special mother-daughter moment.

“I’m cheesing so hard. Moms are the best! She’s so sweet! Congratulations to you both.”

With both Botlhale and her mother reaching significant milestones, the celebrations were certainly well deserved. From earning an Honours degree to celebrating a doctorate and receiving not one, but two cars, the family had plenty of reasons to celebrate.
