Update: My Human Rights Case Is Ongoing!

Over the past several months, I’ve been engaged in a human rights process arising from my experience with a publicly funded child and family service in Ontario.

That process has progressed. Mediation has taken place. No final resolution has been reached.

What continues to matter to me and why I am sharing this update is the broader issue at the heart of this case. This has never been about a single interaction in isolation. It is about accountability, transparency, and how institutional power is exercised when families raise concerns.

For Black parents in particular, these systems do not operate in a vacuum. Decisions made behind closed doors have real consequences for relationships, dignity, and trust.

I brought this case forward because I believe those impacts deserve scrutiny. I remain committed to speaking truthfully about my experience and advocating for change, while the process continues.

Silence has never been neutral in situations like this. Visibility is how accountability begins. I will not relent.
