Sicelo Buthelezi Returns to TV in The Four of Us

Actor and musician Sicelo Buthelezi is back on television with an exciting new role. The talented star now plays Kopano Dhlomo in the new South African telenovela, The Four of Us.
Sicelo is well known for his previous roles in Skeem Saam and Gomora, where he won many fans with his performances. Now, he is introducing viewers to a brand-new character in a fresh story.
A few days before his television return, Sicelo shared the exciting news with his followers on Instagram. Introducing his character, he wrote, “Then there was KOPANO DHLOMO … A smart guy from the streets of Sloot …Intelligent and very observant…catch him tonight on @etvonline 20:00!”
In a recent interview with Sowetan Magazine, Sicelo opened up about what it feels like to return to television after some time away from the screen.
“It feels great to be back, and fortunately during that time, I had personal things that I needed to deal with. There was also growth that needed to happen within me. Sometimes people look at being away from screens and think, ‘You’re unemployed,’ but I looked at it differently. I saw it as a blessing because I had time to deal with things people couldn’t see. I learned that this industry has seasons. Sometimes you have to accept that maybe this is not your season.”
The actor also shared more about the character he plays in The Four of Us.
“Kopano doesn’t consider himself a mama’s boy, but because of his relationship with his mother, people might see him that way. From what we’ve filmed, he is someone who holds his own. He’s intelligent, thoughtful, and righteous in the way he approaches life. He comes from a healthy environment, especially because of how his mother raised him. But then his relationship with his father creates conflict. When he starts questioning some of his father’s choices, that’s when things become complicated within the family.”
The Four of Us officially premiered on June 29, 2026. The telenovela airs every weeknight, from Monday to Friday, at 8:00 PM on e.tv. Viewers who miss the television broadcast can also stream the episodes on Netflix.
With a new role and a fresh chapter in his career, Sicelo’s return to television is one that many fans will be excited to watch as Kopano Dhlomo’s story unfolds.
