A new report from IDC Research (IDC) paints a bleak picture of the current PC market for consumers: Q3 2026 shipments fell 20.1% from the same period last year and 9.1% from Q2 2026. The "ongoing supply constraints and higher price points driven by AI data center buildout" listed as the main reason for the downturn is relatively unsurprising.
