As it turns out, a human head is rather hard, especially when punched incorrectly in the wrong place.

My right hand learned that the hard way.

Even today, 12 years after the day I punched that annoying kid as hard as I possibly could, the knuckle on my right pinky finger is still displaced.

When I look at my knuckle now, it’s a harsh reminder that if I let my feelings (anger, in this case) get the better of me, my life could be scarred and tarnished forever, quite literally, in this instance.

It wasn’t the only scrape I found myself getting into when I was a young, short-tempered teenager/child, either.

When I look back on things now, and especially when I begin to write about it, I find it embarrassing.

It’s funny because whenever I tell people about my past run-ins and how ill-tempered I sometimes was, they literally don’t believe me.

But yeah, I was that kid!

As I’ve gotten older, more mature, and dare I say a tad wiser, it’s safe to say that my anger is kept well under wraps and very well regulated.
