Elderly municipal work force facing voluntary EXIT

The National Treasury continues on its tricky path to thresh-out an ageing municipal work force. Calling it ‘public sector bloat,’ R3.7 billion has been set aside to coax 30 000 government workers into early retirement. Treasury says the ‘top-heavy’ older staff must go and make way for the younger, cheaper recruits to usurp them.
