FAA Clears Environmental Review for a New Northern Pacific Starship Contingency Zone as License Decision Stays Pending

The Federal Aviation Administration announced on September 4 that it has completed its environmental review of expanded SpaceX Starship contingency landing areas in the Pacific Ocean and issued a Finding of No Significant Impact paired with a Record of Decision. The review covers a newly designated Northern Pacific Contingency Landing Area in the northeast Pacific and the enlargement of two zones already analyzed near Hawaii and off South America.
