One stands to attention when Steven Spielberg releases a new film, especially when it’s a science fiction blockbuster dropped on the verge of the school holidays. Debuting nearly three years after his last feature, the pseudo-biographical The Fabelmans, Spielberg’s return to genre storytelling with Disclosure Day is par for the course. It’s a path well travelled, but one that ends up feeling too familiar.
