The Emfuleni Municipality in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, has accused the Democratic Alliance (DA) of political opportunism. This after the DA called for an investigation into the appointment of a Patriotic Alliance councilor in both the Rand West City and Emfuleni municipalities. The DA says Bruce Nimmerhoudt serves as Member of the Mayoral Committee in both municipalities. It also says that it is illegal for any person to occupy a council seat in two different local municipalities at the same time.
