How Rain Spencer Got Ready for Her First Sundance

You might know her best from The Summer I Turned Pretty, but Rain Spencer can thrive in the winter, too. This weekend, the actress traded the sandy coasts of Cousins Beach for the snowy altitudes of Park City, Utah, where she premiered her new film, Big Girls Don’t Cry. It’s a coming-of-age story set in 2006 New Zealand, and follows a 14-year-old girl named Sid (newcomer Ani Palmer) who’s trying to fit in with a group of cool older girls, bond with her older sister, and navigate her sexual desires.
