South African rapper Cassper Nyovest has shared some exciting news with his fans. The rapper has officially been announced as the host of this year’s South African Music Awards (SAMAs).
Cassper Nyovest shared the big news on his Instagram page, where he expressed his excitement about taking on the major hosting role. The announcement comes as a special moment for the rapper, who is set to take centre stage at one of South Africa’s biggest music award ceremonies.
Cassper Nyovest said, “Ladies and gentlemen its official your boy Cassper Nyovest aka Doc Shebeleza is this years host for the South African Music Awards! I am your host there’s a lot things that I’m going to be announcing but for now let’s leave it at this, go tell your friends, and everyone you know to go buy tickets and tickets are out on Ticketpro.”
The rapper also shared his excitement in the caption of his Instagram post, revealing that he and the SAMAs had not seen eye to eye for 10 years before reaching an agreement.

The 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMAs) are taking place on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The ceremony, dubbed the “Homecoming Edition”, will be held at its traditional home at the iconic Sun City Superbowl in the North West province.
The choice of Cassper Nyovest as the host also feels fitting because the rapper is originally from Mahikeng in the North West. His connection to the province makes the upcoming ceremony even more special as he prepares to welcome some of the biggest names in South African music.
Following the announcement, Cassper Nyovest received plenty of congratulations from fans and fellow celebrities who celebrated his big hosting gig.
