Kaizer Chiefs are understood to be exploring a season-long loan move for the exciting 21-year-old, as reported by iDiski Times‘ Sinethemba Makonco.

The move is not yet complete. An agreement between Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC is believed to be straightforward. Abrahams still needs to agree personal terms before any deal can be finalised.

FAIZ ABRAHAMS ATTRACTS INTEREST

Abrahams has attracted plenty of attention during the current transfer window. Orlando Pirates previously explored a permanent transfer but could not reach an agreement with Stellenbosch FC.

Durban City also came close to signing the winger on loan. However, the deal collapsed after the player failed to agree personal terms.

Kaizer Chiefs have now emerged as the latest club in the race. The club has already opened discussions with Stellenbosch FC, with a loan deal currently viewed as the most likely outcome.

The Bishop Lavis-born attacker started his career in the academy of Cape Town Spurs, formerly known as Ajax Cape Town. After the club’s relegation, he opted against signing a new contract and instead joined Stellenbosch FC.

His talent quickly stood out. Abrahams scored 11 goals for Stellenbosch FC’s DStv Diski Challenge side and was crowned DDC Player of the Season.

KAIZER CHIEFS EYE SECOND STELLENBOSCH SIGNING

His outstanding performances earned him a senior debut against Kaizer Chiefs during the closing stages of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.

Stellenbosch FC later loaned him to Israeli club Hapoel Kfar Saba for the 2025/26 campaign. The winger impressed with three goals and three assists in just 11 appearances before returning to South Africa ahead of schedule.

Known for his pace, direct running and ability to beat defenders, Abrahams is regarded as one of South Africa’s brightest young attacking prospects.

Should Kaizer Chiefs complete the deal, Abrahams would become the club’s second signing from Stellenbosch FC during the current transfer window following the arrival of Langelihle Phili.
