Several ANC leaders were prevented from addressing party meetings in key Eastern Cape regions this week as angry branches demanded secretary-general Fikile Mbalula’s head following the party’s failure to submit some candidate lists to the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) in time for the elections next month.
