Phindile Gwala Opens Up About Hospital Scare After Falling Seriously Ill

South African actress Phindile Gwala recently shared a frightening health experience that left her hospitalised and deeply grateful for life.
The actress took to social media to reveal that she had been admitted to hospital after suddenly becoming very sick. She also shared moments from her time in hospital, opening up about how the experience affected both her and her family.
In her post, Gwala explained how quickly her health deteriorated and how the situation shocked her loved ones.
“The past few days reminded me how precious life really is. I was admitted to hospital after getting very sick. For someone who hardly ever gets sick, this really shook my family,” she shared.
She also revealed how severe her symptoms were when she first fell ill. “The day I was admitted I was vomiting nonstop, even popping blood, and I couldn’t even speak. My 18-year-old daughter had to bathe me before I was taken to hospital… something I will never forget.”
“Kunesisu esisha esifikile, sithathelana njenge COVID (airborne).” Which means “There is a new stomach bug going around, it spreads like COVID (through the air).” Kuya ngabantu ke, which means “It depends on the person though.”
According to the actress, some people may experience mild symptoms, while others may suffer more severe reactions like she did.
“Some people experience mild symptoms, but mine were very severe. I’m sharing this because l’m incredibly grateful to be here today.”
She also expressed gratitude to the people who supported her during the difficult time.
“Grateful for life, for my family, friends and for everyone who checked on me. Please be safe out there and protect your loved ones. Health is something we often take for granted until it shakes us. I love you all. God bless.”
Following her post, many fellow celebrities and fans flooded her comment section with messages of love and support, wishing her a speedy recovery.
