Actor and TV host Nimrod Nkosi has responded after a leaked WhatsApp voice note of him speaking openly about the struggles of working in the entertainment industry went viral. The audio, which was shared three days ago by entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, revealed Nkosi reflecting on nearly two decades in the acting industry and the emotional toll it has taken on him.

In the voice note, Nkosi spoke honestly about his journey and frustrations. “Almost 20 years, I’ve given my work, my talent to the industry, this career, now I’m losing it all,” he said. He added, “I thought I should confess that at least, so that I have someone who can support me as a man. I’ve been keeping quiet about it.”
He continued by explaining how he had been dealing with the situation privately. “I’ve been keeping quiet about it and being strong about it. There was a moment where I thought let me just do a 9-5. Let me go look for a job, at my age, after such a long career. But I’m willing to go and work wherever I’m accepted to work, just to find peace.”
Following the leak, Nkosi addressed the public in a video posted on Instagram, where he thanked supporters who defended him after the audio spread online. “You guys are amazing. I woke up to news on Twitter and I saw different people with different opinions. All I wanted to say to you was thank you very, very, very much for defending my honour. And it was good to hear your arguments as well and your opinions on various subjects that this evoked,” he said.
He also reassured fans about his wellbeing, saying, “The most important thing is, I suppose, proof of life. Is Nimrod Nkosi okay? Yes, I am okay. You can see me, I’m smiling, and I’m alright. My family’s alright. My boy is alright.”
Reflecting on the online reaction, Nkosi acknowledged the viral hashtag support. “Going through all of this I happened to see get #GetNimrodAJob. That was amazing. I’ve never seen such a thing. If you’re going to go ahead with that, then do not be surprised that you see me at your job.”
He concluded by reassuring followers once again that he is fine, stating that “everything is going well.”
