South African Grammy-winning artist Tyla is bringing the celebration back home.

The global star is set to host a special Fan Appreciation Day and pop-up experience at Gold Reef City Theme Park in Johannesburg on Sunday, August 16, 2026, giving her loyal Tygers an opportunity to celebrate with her on home soil.

Tyla is giving away 1,000 free tickets to fans who take part in her TikTok challenge. Fans can create a TikTok video using any song from her APOP album for a chance to win a ticket and join the singer for a day of fun at Gold Reef City.

Speaking on eNCA, Tyla shared why celebrating the album with her Joburg Tygers in Johannesburg was particularly meaningful to her.

“Johannesburg shaped me as a person, as an artist. I grew up here, and the Joburg Tigers were my first Tigers to ever know me and support me.

“I really feel good that I’m able to come back and just appreciate, you know, home and also just the OG Tigers and share like a special place cuz I’ve always loved Gold City and I would love to share this that day with everyone.”

For Tyla, the homecoming is about much more than music. It is about family, belonging and reconnecting with the place that helped shape her.

“Family is so important to me, and home is so important to me because there’s no place like this in the world,” she told eNCA.

“So when I have to travel across all the oceans and go to all these new places, I always love to find time to touch back home and just connect back to my roots.”

The celebration comes shortly after the two-time Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter released her highly anticipated APOP album on Friday, 24 July. With the album now out in the world, Tyla is already preparing to take the music to fans across the globe.

On July 27, 2026, Tyla announced her 34-date APOP World Tour, supporting her second studio album. The global headline tour kicks off in Paris on October 12, 2026, before travelling through Europe and North America.

But before the international tour begins, Tyla is making sure she spends some time with the Tygers who were there from the beginning.

The tour will eventually conclude with grand homecoming shows, including performances in South Africa in January 2027.

For now, Johannesburg gets its own special moment. With 1,000 tickets up for grabs, Tyla’s Fan Appreciation Day promises to be a celebration of APOP, her journey and, most importantly, the hometown fans who have supported her from the start.
