DDR2 is one of the only memory types that has not received inflated pricing due to the ongoing memory shortage, making a DDR2-based system potentially an interesting choice to serve as a temporary gaming PC until prices and availability improve. YouTuber Budget-Builds Official published a video showing what the fastest DDR2-based gaming PC is capable of doing in 2026, featuring a quad-core Xeon X5460, 8GB of RAM, and a Titan V graphics card. Surprisingly, the system was capable of running some modern AAA games, including one Unreal Engine 5 title.
