Orlando Pirates MTN8 tickets on sale NOW: Here’s how much

Orlando Pirates have urged supporters to secure their tickets early for Saturday, 8 August’s MTN8 quarter-final against Durban City as the club looks to avoid a repeat of the crowd chaos that marred its Betway Premiership opener.

The Buccaneers return to Orlando Amstel Arena this weekend to begin the defence of their MTN8 crown, chasing an unprecedented fifth successive Top 8 title and a joint-record 15th overall triumph.

The clash against Durban City, scheduled to kick off at 15:00, also pits together two teams that lifted domestic silverware during the 2025/26 season.

Digital tickets only

General admission tickets are available for R100 exclusively through the OpenTickets platform.

Orlando Pirates have stressed that only digital tickets will be accepted, with no physical tickets being sold this season.

The club also confirmed there will be no ticket sales at the stadium or physical outlets, while printed copies of digital tickets will not be accepted for entry.

Supporters have been encouraged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

The ticketing reminder comes just days after Orlando Pirates apologised to supporters following major disruptions during their league opener against Milford FC.

The club confirmed that stadium gates were closed during the match after the Venue Operations Centre (VOC) ordered a lockdown in the interests of public safety.

According to Orlando Pirates, criminal syndicates selling counterfeit tickets and facilitating the unlawful entry of spectators forced officials to restrict access to the venue.

While acknowledging the frustration of supporters with valid tickets who were unable to enter the stadium, the club said the decision was beyond its control.

Orlando Pirates have since appointed OpenTickets to handle refunds for affected supporters who purchased valid tickets but were denied entry because of the lockdown.

Attention now shifts back to matters on the pitch, where the Buccaneers will look to continue their remarkable MTN8 dominance.

Victory over Durban City would move Orlando Pirates one step closer to a fifth consecutive MTN8 title, cementing their status as the competition’s most successful club in recent years.
