It is amazing what you can pack into just a few days in a city. Our recent article for Madrid City Hall titled “5 days in Madrid: The ultimate luxury getaway” is testament to this. But whilst the Spanish capital can be enjoyed to the full in just a long weekend, there’s a fundamental difference between visiting a city and letting a city absorb you. Short European getaways typically encourage us to travel at a frantic pace, and pack everything into the little time we have available. But cities like Madrid reveal their true character only when you give them time.
