What if Our Humanity Is the Key to Exceptional Performance?

For much of my life, I thought I understood what high performance required. As an elite athlete, I learned to devote my mind, body, and spirit to the pursuit of excellence. I learned to be disciplined, to tolerate discomfort, to push through when things were hard, and to keep going when I wanted to stop. There were parts of that experience that I loved, and parts of it that shaped me in ways I remain deeply grateful for.
