It was the misogynist comment that launched a thousand clapbacks, and I’m totally here for the powerful response that came from many women across social media. However, the incident didn't enter my radar until I saw a LinkedIn post titled “Just look at the degree on that chick.”

The phrase references a tweet from 16th November 2025, in which a man shared a photo of Dr Juliet Turner — a PhD candidate who had successfully defended her thesis after four years of hard work — with the caption

“Just look at the degree on that chick”
— No man ever

This sexist comment appeared among a flood of other derogatory and offensive responses to Dr Turner’s original tweet, primarily by men wishing to denigrate her achievements, and led her to respond with this:

I’m sure having my photo shared in this derogatory way would be devastating if my motivation for getting a PhD was to impress this guy and women-hating friends. Thankfully, it was not. So I can just laugh about it instead.
