Kaizer Chiefs forward Glody Lilepo has reportedly attracted interest from clubs in Kazakhstan following an impressive run of form this season.

The 28-year-old Congolese attacker joined Amakhosi last year and has quickly established himself as a key figure in the squad, delivering consistent performances and scoring crucial goals.

Lilepo has been one of Chiefs’ standout players this campaign, contributing seven goals and two assists across all competitions.

According to Soccer Laduma, interest from abroad is already building.

“There has been interest from Kazakhstan, and initial enquiries have been made to gather information about him. Nothing formal yet, but that could change,” a source told the publication.

Lilepo has been one of Kaizer Chiefs best players this sesason

Amakhosi co-coach Cedric Kaze has praised the forward’s impact, highlighting his experience and versatility.

“I believe he is a player with a lot of experience,” Kaze said, as per KickOff.

“He has played for big clubs and brings a lot of quality. He is fast, can play as a striker, hold up the ball, run in behind the defence, and remains calm inside the box.”

Lilepo signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Kaizer Chiefs in January last year, with an option to extend for a further season, underlining the club’s long-term plans for him.

Before arriving in South Africa, he built his reputation on the continent with clubs such as Al Hilal Omdurman and AS Vita Club, before a stint in France.

Now thriving at Naturena, Lilepo’s resurgence could pave the way for another move abroad if interest from Kazakhstan materialises.

With Kaizer Chiefs struggling for goals this season, it remains to be seen if they will sell the talented Congolese forward. The likes of Khanyisa Mayo, Etiosa Ighodaro and Ashley Du Preez have fired blanks for most of the season.
