Conservatives Blame Muslims Because They Have No Answers, Only Hatred

By now, I’m sure we are all aware of the horrific terror attack we saw at Bondi Beach in Australia, in which Jewish people were attacked during Hanukkah. This is the worst mass shooting event that has occurred in Australia since the Port Arthur massacre in 1996. Thankfully, it appears as though the assailants have been caught; however, unfortunately, as is often the case with these events, we’ve seen reactionaries try and weaponise this for their own divisive ends.

We saw this when there was a stabbing in a synagogue in Manchester, England, not too long ago, and we’re now seeing the same response from reactionaries to this shooting at Bondi Beach. They are jumping at the chance to blame Islam for this and to argue that this attack is an example of why we shouldn’t allow Muslims into the West. Of course, this is a completely dishonest point, and it’s also an example of something I’ve talked about in the past, which is that conservatives and people on the right are incapable of real solidarity.

What I mean by this is, when a shooting like this happens, people usually extend their support to the groups affected. We saw this in the wake of the Buffalo shooting a couple of years ago, the Christchurch shooting in New Zealand, and we…
