It’s obvious to a great number of people that there is a problem with misogyny in society. This is something that has been discussed for a very long time, centuries even perhaps. In more recent times, we have seen discourse surrounding misogyny come to take up a large portion of the public consciousness, thanks to events such as Gamergate, the rise of Andrew Tate and the Red-Pill movement, and even with the popularity of films such as Adolescence.

Despite the best efforts of reactionaries and antifeminists who would have us believe that misogyny isn’t a problem and is just a mere thing of the past, this is not true at all. A cursory look at the state of women in society shows that misogyny is very much still here. We can just look at how Republicans in the US are pushing for an end to no-fault divorce or how in England and Wales, the conviction rates for reported rapes are shockingly low.

Clearly, there is a very real problem with misogyny, and this problem extends greatly online with the rise of people such as Andrew Tate and others like him. These are people who’ve built a whole massive platform online from an explicitly misogynistic message.
