Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly parted ways with midfielder Happy Mashiane, bringing an end to his seven-year association with the club.
The 28-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Siwelele FC but struggled to make a significant impact during his spell away from Naturena.
According to SABC Sport, Chiefs and Mashiane mutually agreed not to extend his contract, paving the way for his departure ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
A product of the club’s youth academy, Mashiane made 69 appearances across all competitions for Amakhosi.
Despite showing promise during the early stages of his career, he was unable to cement a regular place in the starting line-up and often found himself on the fringes of the squad.
Mashiane is not the only player to leave the club this offseason. Chiefs have also parted ways with attacking midfielder George Matlou.
The 27-year-old joined Amakhosi from Swallows FC in July 2022 and played a role in the squad that ended the club’s long trophy drought by winning the Nedbank Cup during the 2024/25 season.
Kaizer Chiefs players are expected to return to training next week as preparations for the new campaign get underway under new head coach Fernando Da Cruz.
In terms of new arrivals, the club has so far confirmed the signing of Thabo Moloisane, while promising defender Aden McCarthy has been sold. With several changes taking place behind the scenes, supporters will be eager to see how Chiefs perform under their new coach in the upcoming season.
