South African rapper, songwriter, and television personality Nadia Nakai is expanding her brand into the fashion world with a new streetwear line called Nak’d Authority.
Nadia Nakai is known not only for her music but also for her business ventures. She is also the founder of a successful make-up brand called Naked Without. Now, the rapper is adding another exciting project to her growing portfolio with the launch of her streetwear brand, which will also include a new handbag.
The star recently showed off her Nak’d Authority handbag during the Basketball Africa League, giving fans a first glimpse of what they can expect from the brand.
Taking to Instagram, Nadia Nakai shared her excitement about the upcoming launch.
“Bag -I’ve been working on something! @nakdauthority DROPPING SOON!” she wrote in the caption.
Speaking to Drum Magazine, the rapper explained that teasing her brand at the Basketball Africa League was a strategic move that reflects the culture the brand represents.
“Basketball culture and streetwear are deeply connected. The energy, the confidence, the style, it all aligns with what the brand stands for,” she highlighted.
By choosing a platform that celebrates African excellence on a global stage, Nadia positioned Nak’d Authority within a powerful cultural narrative. The moment allowed her to introduce the brand in a setting that naturally connects sport, style, and culture.
Unlike many celebrity-led brands, Nadia emphasises that she is deeply involved in the creative process behind Nak’d Authority. She shared that she works closely on everything from the concept of the designs to the materials used.
From concept development and fabric selection to final fittings, she remains hands-on with the brand.
“My personal stamp is in the details, how something fits, how it photographs, how it makes you feel when you wear it. It has to feel luxurious but still raw and authentic,” she said.
Although the official date for when fans and supporters will be able to get their hands on the handbag and streetwear pieces has not yet been announced, excitement is already building as many eagerly wait for Nak’d Authority to drop.
