As Brexit reshaped the UK, it also ushered in a new mindset – one that encourages exploration, adaptability, and a deeper understanding of the world. This is particularly relevant for those like me, who have long felt the urge to break free from the confines of mundane cities, filled with lifeless, monotonous routines built on narcissistic fantasy. The vibrancy of the world outside beckons, and there’s a profound beauty in seeking out experiences that enrich our lives.

For many (including myself), the idea of stationary living can be unappealing. Why remain in a familiar yet uninspiring environment when the world is teeming with life and diversity? My journey is not defined by physical travel alone, but by the worldwide connections I cultivate through my work. As someone who has always had to embrace remote work, I have found joy as well as necessity in a lifestyle that allows me to connect with global communities.

My role involves working closely with the human behind the consumer, offering more than a service by contributing to memorable experiences during worldwide celebrations. Each interaction is a reminder of the joy and significance that comes from cherished memories for others.

In my other professional capacity with an international company, I analyse data that spans continents. This work not only offers me insights into different cultures but also fulfils my desire to connect with places I’ve never physically visited. Mentally, I traverse borders, and this connection is equally enriching.

Living with chronic illness has its challenges, yet it has also bestowed upon me a unique perspective. I consider myself fortunate to find a silver lining amidst the struggles. This privilege allows me to explore the world in ways that resonate deeply with my personal history. I often think of my ancestors, those travellers who roamed the earth, and I believe they would take pride in my quest for connection and understanding.

While my current experience is mostly virtual, the dream of one day physically travelling the world remains vivid. Each new destination I encountered – whether through data analysis or heartfelt conversations – fuels my wanderlust. I envision a future where I can explore these places first-hand, soaking in their culture, history, and spirit.

In conclusion, breaking the Brexit mindset means embracing change, seeking connections, and understanding that the world is cast and full of life. For those of us who feel the pull of adventure, whether through work or dreams, the journey is just the beginning. One day, I will traverse this world, continuingtge legacy of my traveller ancestors. Until then, I celebrate the connections I make and the memories I help create.
