Discourse surrounding Palestine and its occupation at the hands of Israel has become increasingly common over the last two years, with many people raising their voices to stand up to an obvious injustice that is going unpunished. One of the more frustrating aspects of what we’ve seen is how people in countries like the US have been consistently calling on their leaders to do more to stop what Israel is doing to no avail. Kamala Harris has repeatedly shut down hecklers on her book tour for calling out her complicity in Israel’s actions, something we’ve also seen from former President Barack Obama.

Amongst these voices, former Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton weighed in last week to give her two cents on the matter, and her take was horrific. Hillary made a point of arguing that social media platforms such as TikTok have been influencing young people to a more pro-Palestine position. Rather weirdly, Clinton specifically mentioned “young Jewish Americans” as being manipulated by the discourse on Gaza.

The main reason, according to Clinton, why young people are becoming so galvanised in their opposition to Israel is because they simply don’t know history. She actually made a point of saying that she found it hard to engage with young people…
