Actress Mapaseka Koetle has officially closed an important chapter in her acting career. After playing the much-loved character Dintle Nyathi for 13 years, she has said an emotional goodbye to Scandal! as the long-running soap reaches its final episode.
To mark the special moment, Mapaseka shared a collection of old photos and memorable moments from her time on Scandal!. Alongside the pictures, she posted a heartfelt message reflecting on the journey that shaped both her career and personal life.
She wrote, “Dear Dintle, 13 years ago, I met a character who would change my life forever.
I didn’t just play you I grew up with you. Through every triumph, mistake, heartbreak, and victory, you taught me resilience, strength, and the power of starting over. You helped shape the woman and actress I am today.
Thank you for opening doors I once only dreamed of walking through. Thank you for giving me a home, a purpose, and memories I will cherish forever.
To the incredible cast and crew, thank you for becoming family and for walking this beautiful journey with me.
And to every viewer who welcomed Dintle into their homes and hearts, thank you for your love and support over the years.
Tonight, at 8pm, we say goodbye to Scandal!, but Dintle will always be a part of me. Love, Mapaseka.”
Her emotional farewell quickly touched fans and fellow actors, who praised her for bringing Dintle to life over the years.
Samkelo Ndlovu, known for Adulting, commented, “You carried Dintle with such care and precision my friend, thank you for great tv.”
Meanwhile, Matshepo Sekhopi, who starred in The River, also celebrated Mapaseka’s achievement. She wrote, “A proud moment. Thank you for showing us your all…. never to be forgotten.”
Mapaseka was just 23 years old when she joined Scandal! in January 2013. Over the years, Dintle became one of the show’s most recognisable and talked-about characters. Her journey was filled with love, heartbreak, challenges, and personal growth, making her a favourite among many viewers.
Now, 13 years later, Mapaseka’s time as Dintle has come to an end as Scandal! says its own farewell. The iconic South African soap opera officially ended on Friday, 26 June 2026, bringing its remarkable 23-season run on e.tv to a close.
