iCAUR Confirms V23 Lineup for South Africa Launch. iCAUR South Africa has confirmed the local lineup for its upcoming V23 all-electric SUV, scheduled to launch in the country in May 2026. The announcement marks a significant step in the rollout of Chery’s iCAUR new-energy vehicle (NEV) sub-brand, which first revealed plans to enter the South African market in 2025.

The V23 will be introduced in two derivatives: the V23 2WD and the V23 AWD. The 2WD variant features a rear-mounted single electric motor producing 100 kW and 180 N.m of torque, powered by a 60 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery. It supports DC fast charging at 85 kW, enabling a 20–80% charge in 36 minutes.

The AWD model offers a dual-motor setup with a combined output of 155 kW and 292 N.m, paired with an 82 kWh battery pack. Charging from 20–80% takes just over 40 minutes at a DC fast charging station. Both models come with alloy wheels — 19-inch for the 2WD and 21-inch for the AWD — and feature McPherson strut front suspension with a multilink rear arrangement.

Inside, the V23 boasts a leather-upholstered cabin with three colour options. Standard features include a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a seven-speaker sound system, and electrically adjustable front seats.

Safety equipment comprises six airbags and Isofix child-seat anchorages, while the AWD variant adds advanced driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring. The V23 has achieved a five-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.

Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager at iCAUR South Africa, described the launch as a milestone: “The V23 represents an important step for the iCAUR brand in South Africa. It brings together distinctive design, modern electric performance and innovation, supported by a strong standard specification, in a way that we believe will resonate with local buyers.”

Beyond the V23, iCAUR has confirmed that additional models, including the V27 REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) and the T03 all-electric SUV, will also be introduced to the South African market in the near future.
